Vladimir Kush comes to town
Chalk Farm Gallery invites you to come celebrate the annual event with an exciting evening of live music, giant wall videos of the artist’s work, and food catered by Lotus Productions. Event is Friday, Oct 10, by invitation only from 5 to 6:30 pm and open to the public from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. This year Vladimir will be accompanied by his father, a huge inspiration to his work.

Women’s Band “Aunt Claire” at Body

Zen Buddhist meditation retreat
Prajna Zendo is offering a three-day sesshin (Zen Buddhist meditation retreat) from the evening of Thursday, October 16, through noon on Sunday, October 19. The sesshin includes sitting and walking meditation, Big Mind practice, and individual interviews with Prajna Zendo’s teachers, Sydney Musai Walter, Roshi and David Daishin Brighton, Sensei. New Lions Club in Eldorado
The Eldorado Basin Lions Club will be newly chartered in a ceremony held at 6:30 pm on Friday, October 17, at Brumby’s Bar and Grill in Eldorado. It’s not too late to become a charter member! THE RUMI CONCERT – A WIDE LISTENING SKY
The Rumi Concert is an uplifting event where you can experience the stirring poetry of the 13th-century mystic, Rumi, and the rich weaving of story, music and dance that illuminate Rumi’s timeless message of love and hope. A stunning collaboration of artists, with poet and translator Coleman Barks, oud virtuoso Rahim AlHaj, world percussionist Glen Velez, maverick cellist David Darling and international storydancer Zuleikha. 7:30 pm Monday, October 20, at the Lensic Performing Arts Center, 211 W. 10th Annual Celebration of the Book
Enjoy a glorious exhibit of handmade artists’ books from noon to 4 pm Friday, October 24, and 10 am to 4 pm Saturday, October 25. This free event will be held at the Southside Library, 6599 Jaguar Rd., Santa Fe. Saturday’s workshops include poetry/bookmaking for kids in grades 5-8 from 10 to noon; a family puppet show by Wise Fool at 1 pm; and a self-publishing workshop from 2 to 3 pm.
