The Network of Spiritual Progressives invites all concerned citizens to hear Reverend Holly Beaumont, legislative coordinator for the New Mexico Conference of Churches, and Rick Lass, voting matters coordinator, on Sunday, January 13. Forgiveness Workshops
Temple Beth Shalom's series of workshops focusing on forgiveness will culminate in a celebration of music and dance featuring Robert Mirabal and Maria Benitez's Teatro Flamenco on Sunday, January 20, at 4 p.m. at Temple Beth Shalom (205 E. Barcelona). Robert Mirabal, Patrick Shendo Mirabal and Paul Fowler will perform traditional Native American music fused with rock, folk, hip-hop, African and techno influences, and Maria Benitez will present the Estampa Espanola Flamenco performance. Teachings on Karma
Å free public talk with Kadampa Buddhist nun and resident teacher Gen Kelsang Gomlam will be held at the Eldorado Community Center, 1 Hacienda Loop, in "The Classroom" on Tuesday, January 22, 7-8:30 p.m. In this new series of classes based on Buddha's teachings, we can begin to understand the role of karma in our lives and methods we can employ to positively affect our future experiences. Free Estate-Planning Seminars
The first of eleven free presentations on estate planning and related issues will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 6-7 p.m. (128 Grant Ave., conference room); Thursday, January 24, 6-7 p.m. (LaFarge Library); and Saturday, January 26, 3-5 p.m. (Southside Library). LIVING BRIDGES CONFERENCE ON END-OF-LIFE care
Living Bridges is a new nonprofit in Santa Fe dedicated to education and support through life's transition and end-of-life compassionate care. Living Bridges will be presenting a conference February 9-10 at the Scottish Rite Center in Santa Fe. This conference begins as a candid dialogue about death, dying and grief, and will look at the sacredness of the dying process and death as a natural passage.
